Step into a realm of castles, ancient dungeons, knights, and medieval echoes. I’m Monika, and I hope you enjoy your journey through these halls and find something that resonates with your dark soul and unique aesthetic.
If you’re wondering how this realm came to life, the story behind Dungeon Gondor is simple: it all started with two lifelong passions. First, my love for classical art., which is why you’ll find here reworks of master engravers and painters, such as Gustave Doré. Second, for over 25 years I’ve been a devoted music maniac. My path began with Black Metal, before gradually expanding into Death, Thrash, and Heavy Metal.
Driven by a constant hunger for new sounds, I eventually discovered Ambient, followed by Dungeon Synth, and this music completely captured my heart. Since the Middle Ages have fascinated me since childhood, this genre felt like coming home. I even ventured into composing music myself!
During that creative journey, I learned that while your mind may plan a specific genre, your fingers on the keys will always guide you to what truly burns in your heart. Although I initially set out to record a Dungeon Synth release, my music naturally evolved into something different. That’s how my project Incantamentum was born, resulting in the ambient album Profundum (you can listen to it on my Bandcamp).
Beyond music and art, I am an absolute nature lover at heart. Deep forests and mountain trails are where I recharge and find endless inspiration.
